Heart Book 7

take all those cages
those white plastic cages
spread all over germany and poland and france
lying down on all those green fields that cover this world
carry them on your backs
sweating under their weight
take them with no other thought
but the whiteness of their bars
the greenness of those wounded fields
take them away from those places
make them free again
let there be nothing but the greenness of the fields
with nobody and nothing pressing weight upon them
take them away
take their whiteness far away from there
put them around a crimson pulsating heart
bleeding into a space that’s so black & cold
cover that pain of redness
with the whiteness of their bars
press all that weight around it
make it safe, unreachable
bar it from the world.
